Why Current Owners Love Living in the Area

Where do we start – there are a lot of different reasons.

Financial

To start with, Florida does not have state tax on earnings.  In addition, there is currently a movement in the state legislature to reduce or remove real estate taxes on owner-occupied single-family homes.

City Activities

Mount Dora is known as the Festival City.  There are more than two dozen festivals, mostly between October and March, that attract thousands of tourists.

Township

The city’s government is very serious about maintaining the quaintness of Mount Dora.  Most of the stores and restaurants are mom and pop owned.  The only franchise businesses in the historic downtown district are Foxtail Coffee and Spice and Tea Exchange.  Mount Dora strives to retain its small-town flavor filled with friendly folks.
